The Conroe Independent School District has purchased acreage off Texas 242 for a future elementary school in Harper’s Preserve.
 
The 17.67-acre parcel  closed in January 2017 and is in the new East Village of the Harper's Preserve residential community, next door to the new Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital under construction off Interstate 45. Conroe ISD purchased the land from 242 LLC. The construction of the future K-6 elementary school off Texas 242 was part of Conroe ISD's $487 million bond on the Nov. 3,  2015 ballot.

Texas 288, Sam Yager Inc., City Park

An economic development tool known as a 380 agreement is being used to fund some $18 million worth of infrastructure and roadway improvements along a stretch of Texas 288 designed to attract grocery stores, restaurants ad other shops to a part of Houston that has virtually no commercial development.

Retailers have avoided the area between Orem Drive and Almeda-Genoa because Texas 288 doesn’t have any acess roads running parallel to its main lanes, said land developer Sam Yager III of Sam Yager Inc., which is developing the City Park residential project in the area.

New Elementary Harper's Preserve for CISD

Announced in the Houston Chronicle, the 17.67-acre parcel is in the Harper's Preserve residential community, next door to the new Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital under construction off Interstate 45. Conroe ISD is purchasing the land from 242 LLC, a subsidiary of Austin-based Forestar Group Inc.

Although the district is buying the property from surplus funds, construction of the future K-6 elementary school off Texas 242 is part of Conroe ISD's $487 million bond proposal slated for the Nov. 3 ballot.

The first section of Harper’s Preserve/East Village is now open.

Sam Yager Incorporated just released 24, 80 ft. by 140 ft. homesites in Harper’s Preserve/ East Village to Drees Custom Homes. These homesites are the largest that have ever been offered in Harper’s Preserve and also the first time Sam Yager Incorporated has developed 80’ homesites. Many of the lots are wooded and on cul-de-sacs, and almost one-third of the lots back to the lake or have lake views.
