Harper’s Preserve’s architectural style is “Gulf Coast Folk National” as defined in “A Field Guide to American Houses” published by Alfred A. Knopf. This style had spread into the Texas Gulf Coast by the 1890‘s. The community’s architecture and the iconic use of the palmetto leaf in the logo are used to celebrate the 160-acre forested wetland and habitat preserved at the heart of the forested privately gated community. Harper’s Preserve has +/- 2100 single family homes ranging from the low $300’s to over $1.2 million, two full scale amenity centers for its residents (the “Pool Barn” and “Club Palmetto”), an extensive trail system, its own public elementary school (Suchma Elementary School), two multifamily communities, restaurants and a primary retail area anchored by a regional HEB grocery store in the area dubbed “Harper’s Downtown”.
